Shitsteyn

Right-wingers are going off their rockers everywhere you look. Recently, Mark Steyn openly admits to copraphilia. Really.

He unironically and thoughtlessly quotes a by-the-way amusing David Sedaris piece for the New Yorker in which the latter writes of political undecideds:

I think of being on an airplane. The flight attendant comes down the aisle with her food cart and, eventually, parks it beside my seat. ‘Can I interest you in the chicken?’ she asks. ‘Or would you prefer the platter of s—t with bits of broken glass in it?’

To be undecided in this election is to pause for a moment and then ask how the chicken is cooked.

To which Steyn actually replies "Well, to be honest, I’ve never much cared for chicken."

In a word: Ew.

This, kids, is what happens to the massively doltish when they think they're more clever than they are.

P.S. Of course, I could be more forgiving of Steyn's choice, and speculate that he'd rather eat feces than engage in cannibalism -- a position for which an argument could conceivably be made.

Hate and Prop. 8

Eek. Poll numbers not looking so hot. Maybe I can fit in some phone banking this week.

Here's another commercial. Not as smart or strong as the last one I posted -- more conventional and paint-by-numbers -- but just doing what I can to keep it fresh:

Rightists Expand Government To Your Junk

DKos's eugene is totally right about this. Now, as I live in modern-day Sodom, my volunteering at a No on 8 office would be silly, but it can only help for me to post this:

I suggest that California Rightards visit dictionary.com for the definitions of "unintended" and "consequences."

Is It Just the Native Petulance...

....Or is Charles Krauthammer really, really sick? Just caught him on PBS, watching his grinch-like visage spew excuses for Palin's inability/unwillingness to answer questions, and while he is always pissy, this time his pissy-ness had an extra, indefinable edge to it -- the kind I've seen in people with terminal illnesses who don't have that long to go. Coupled with his feeble and rickety physical presence, I got a distinctly aidsy vibe.

Or maybe it's just too much of the wrong make-up plastered over bad plastic surgery. Thoughts?

Post-Coital Cigarette

Three thoughts:

1. From the front page of our local fishwrapping AKA The San Francisco Chronicle: "No game-changing moments in highly anticipated debate." Duh: Most viewers came away with their impressions intact that Biden is a smart if occasionally mistake-prone guy, and that Sarah Palin is in over her head.

2. Apropos that last bit: despite CNN polls showing most viewers thought Biden won the debate, pundits are still spinning it that Palin triumphed because she didn't lick Gwen Ifill's face after dropping her drawers and taking a dump onstage. File under Saw That Coming A Mile Away.

3. Cheney is a one-off, and has hardly set a precedent for redefining and aggrandizing immense amounts of power and influence to the Vice Presidency; this is still a position whose biggest responsibilities include breaking a tied vote in the Senate and looking frumpy at funerals. These guys aren't running for Master of the Universe -- Palin, if McCain proves victorious, wouldn't wield the power possessed by Evil-Lyn's hairdresser. Let's keep perspective, people.

Conflict of Interest

How can we expect this crafty negress to fairly moderate a debate in which one of the participants is a running-mate to a fellow jigaboo about whom she's written what must surely be a laudatory book? That's like asking Charlie Gibson to interview Governor Palin.

J'accuse, MSM!
